With kids, work, and household on our brains, sometimes just getting out the door in the morning can be challenging for a working mom! Here are 5 easy tips to stay organized and get to your destination on time. These steps alone have saved me from running late many of mornings!
- Find a place NEAR the DOOR for your purse and keys. Have a little bin or cubby near the door just for YOU! We know where to put our coats and shoes, but you need a specific place to put your purse and keys. Make it a habit to always keep them there, so you aren’t searching and searching for those items! I’ve spent way to many hours looking for those rings of copper!
- Lay your clothes out the night before. Sounds easy, right? It IS! Take two minutes before you go to bed to pick out an outfit (make sure to include all the basics, including socks!). You can even put the outfit in a place in the bathroom to throw on right after your shower! Adding the accessories the night before is a huge timesaver as well
- Pre-plan your breakfast and lunch. As you are making or cleaning up from dinner the night before, throw together your lunch! You are already in the kitchen, so why not take a few minutes to make lunch while you are there? I ALWAYS take leftovers from dinner, so this is an easy lunch for the next day! For breakfast, lay everything out on the counter, be it a bowl or spoon or ingredients for a smoothie. I typically have a smoothie and add all the ingredients to my blender the night before. I keep the blender in the frig, whip it out the next morning and simply blend up! This step alone has saved me tons of time in the morning!
