I am an apple body shape. Round. Curvy. I have broad shoulders and a wide torso with an average bust. I have thinner arms and legs, but my bust/waist/hip ratio is roughly the same. I’m straight down solid, not too many curves here. I’ve come to discover some Lularoe styles and patterns that look best on my figure. Check these out if you have the same sort of stats!
I attempt to accentuate my best features…my thinner legs and arms. It’s important to draw attention away from your torso and onto other areas. Carly dresses, Madison and Azure skirts are perfect for this! All hit at roughly knee length, allowing for some leg exposure.
I avoid belts as well as clingy/form fitting pieces, so as not to draw attention to my torso. Julias and GiGis are not for me, but can look better under a layering piece.
In addition, any shirts worn should not end my my problem spots…waist and hips. I can wear a Cassie skirt as long as I pair it with a Perfect T, which hits lower in my torso and avoids the trouble spots. Irma and leggings are a perfect combination for colder whether as the length of the Irma ends near my backside.
One of my best tips is to tie a shirt (Classic and Irmas work particularly well) up on the side. This cuts off your midsection and diverts attention to your tie on the side, creating an instantly chic look!
Layering pieces, such as the Lindsay Shirley, and Sarah provide ample coverage and eliminate all problem areas; however, the Joy is one of the most versatile and beneficial tools to those of us rounder shapes…Joys have a slimming effect on every outfit. Pair a Joy over a Carly, Cassie/Classic combination, or a simple leggings/Irma outfit, and it eliminates any concerns over where a top finishes. Attention is taken away from your waist/hips.
